No. Your best bet is the pay lot under Red Square.
By far my favorite bar near UW. Of course, I do love basements
There is a reason this is a classic. Several actually.
Homely, intimate, pleasing to the crowd. The bartenders are quick, and they have a variety. Beer specials are regular, but they also make great liquor mixes. It's not fancy, but this place has everything you need for a chill Friday night. Try their shareable plate of nachos!
Always a fun place to visit for Huskies game day, food is good and so is the service. We sat at bar, great service
This place hasn't changed in decades. It makes me feel 22 and 400 all at the same time. Still half price nachos on Mondays! It's just the best.
Awesome atmosphere good menu good selection on drinks
Grungy college bar with a cool old interior. I think it's in the buildings basement. Great beer selection and drink specials. Food could be better though.
Fun ambiance. Excellent drinks.
Quaint little bar with great decor, bar tender was very nice. Had a blast playing pool for free as well. Also the drink selection was great for such a small place. (First place we were able to get our Irish car bombs since getting to seattle)
This basement pub is a hidden gem of the U District. Time doesn't pass here, and it has the same people, menu, and look as it did when I started going in 2000. The turkey grinder is unbeatable for a hot sandwich. The rotating taps selection is outstanding. And the prices won't break the bank. If only it had an elevator...
My favorite place ever in UW district...!
When it comes to pubs this is spot on, good drink prices, beer selections and relaxing nostalgic environment
Memories of a past I left behind. Good times...
I stop by for a tasty beer every so often when I've got a long wait for the bus or just feel like having a cold one. Average priced drinks with an old style feel. Very dimly lit and not a huge party vibe which I find admirable. Good place for a local brew.
This pub literally sums up the entire college experience. It's in a basement, there are pinball machines and sticky tables and cheap beer.
Pretty good nachos.
A great, cozy place for beers with friends. There nachos are great, especially with the chilli topping!
Inexpensive and cold on the hot day because it is underground. Perfect place to play darts, pool, trivia, and celebrating the quarter's end.
Best dive bar in the U District
Very chill good beer and food.
I love this place. Quintessential old Seattle bar. Really nice focus on classic Northwest breweries, like Boundary Bay, beer on tap!
Kinda cute! Nice atmosphere.
What a great find. We were originally heading for Aqua Verde, but having hiked for ten minutes and wasted 45 mins to ensure we hit happy hour, we got there to find they were closed. Looking for another venue we headed for the nearby College Inn, which is hidden underground. Once inside you are transported to an old world British pub! Central three sided bar, dark wood, a patina of age on everything. There was even a cosy fire burning in one Corner. I enjoyed a Wonderland trail IPA, so good I had another. There is also a bar snacks menu which so many of the craft breweries lack.
Tucked into the basement, this bar is a classic dive! Somewhere from 8-10 beers on tap. Two pool tables. Neither seem to spit out all of the pool balls, but that adds to the charm. Pretty reasonable pricing overall.
Super cool bar. Wonderful service!
Great vintage brick basement atmosphere, with cheap pool tables and darts (50¢ to play). The drinks are a little steep but that's true for every bar in this area, and the happy hour deals help make up for it.
Good beer🙂 and Two pool tables
Better than average college pub. More graduate crowd than undergrad.
Cool spot with a rotating list of craft brews. They Host a trivia night every Tuesday .
Classic basement college bar. Ratso beer hall with pool tables (& carvings on some tables . . )
Its definitely a great place for just hanging out and chatting with your friends. This bar also has pool table and darts! There are tvs if you need to watch a game as well.
This is a decent place to go grab a drink or even study, especially on an evening. The drinks are pretty decently priced too. The bar is a little dark, so if you’re looking for a brighter, this would not be ideal
Not my kind of place. It's ... In a basement. Very few TVs. Very limited food menu. Great beer selection (quality not quantity). Its a standby and worth a visit. Just kind of a hidey-hole place
Looks like a college dive, smells like a college dive, is a college dive. Good prices, friendly staff.
Classic U district underground pub.Pool tables and darts a plenty. Nothing fancy but that is the beauty and charm of this place. It is nice they offer mixed drinks and well drinks at a decent price. The food is as you would expect for a dark and greasy place, but it satisfies the pallet after a couple of drinks.
Atmosphere good. A quiet evening the night I was there. Staff nice.
Drinks were okay, got food poisoning from the pizza bread though. Was puking all day the next day.
You know those cool college bars in movies? The ones with the dim lights, messages written on walls with sharpie, and professors talking about politics in the back? That is exactly what the College Inn Pub is. I love the cozy atmosphere and the cocktails are great. They only mention beer and ciders on the menu, but they definitely make great Mules as well. I love this cool neighborhood bar.
I loved this bar in 1999, and very little has changed, in either opinion or bar. Not only is this a pillar of habit for the true UW OCD thinkers, it's a pillar in the college era of the history of my life.
This cozy basement pub reminds me of all the true pubs I have come across in the UK with all the exposed dark crooked timbers and hidden nooks around each corner. The best part about this place is that you can have one group of folks loudly partying on one side, then others reading or studying on the other, and there's the regulars just sitting at the bar in the center minding their own business.
Fun atmosphere, friendly staff, and decent prices. Great place to go to catch a game or just to grab some drinks with friends.
Great beer variety. The entrance is a tad hard to find but once you find it, great interior. They get very busy and loud during trivia nights. So avoid it that night of the week. Or if you want to play trivia, which is a lot of fun, get there early.
I swear this place hasn't changed in almost 30 years, and that's a good thing!
Average pub, nice service but not the best place unless you are in college
Ordinary food. Ordinary beer. Good service.
Nice, quiet, semi-sleezy, nifty place to have a couple of ... mmm .. coco's before you head home from school.
This place has old steel tip darts. Pinball and pool tables. Feels ancient like your drinking at your ancestors place. Look at the photos of this place. Its cozy in everyway. Be back soon
You do not achieve the priceless patina of a true dive bar, the scars of gospel authenticity, the colorful collage of the ultra-real and the forever THERE without decades of sustained effort. After a nearly 18-year absence, I have returned to the Emerald City in triumph, still bearing in the mind's eye of my soul flashbang images of the Battle of Seattle. And this bar is all, like, whatever...your money is green so you can have a drink if you like.
Nice bar with a cozy fire place. Can get busy at night on the weekends being near UW
Best pub in the U District. Always has been.
